The one drawback to including a Necrotic Ooze in your deck is that it's essentially a vanilla creature in the early game, when the graveyards are still empty. So this card is giving you the chance to play two 1-mana Tutors in your deck that can hit any of your cards. Yes, Vampiric Tutor is a better version of this card, but it is restricted in vintage as well. Do you have an idea how powerful it is to hit any card in your deck for just 1 mana? Black Lotus or a Combo Piece on turn 1? There are lightyears in Power Level between those 2 cards. Grim Tutor is so "weak" that it is legal in modern. ![]() Same Level as Grim Tutor? Are you kidding me? You compare a 3-Mana Tutor with a 1-Mana Tutor? Imperial Seal is restricted in Vintage and Banned in Legacy for good reason.
